So happy to see the happy ending & new beginning for Dobby. We love our little Abby so much! Although she still isn't over the hurdle of the super stubborn heartworms and her now enlarged heart :( we wouldn't trade a minute with her even if we knew when we adopted her how hard her journey would be! We will do everything in our power to make her better and we will love her for the rest of our lives. Thank you again and again for all the good you do.

I adopted Hart (now Li'l Abby on Sept 13, 2009. She has two older sisters Peanut & Pepper to teach her the rules. I think her favorite place is the yard, where she can bury her face in the grass. She follows everyone around, and goes both inside and outside on her own now. Li'l Abby is a smart puppy. She has learn to climb the four step into our bed, and comes down on her own. She is currently asleep in my lap while I'm typing this message. Thank you FTHAR. We dearly love Li'l Abby.

I adopted Spencer (mini dachshund) from a kill shelter and of course they knew nothing about him. He had never been to a vet and wasn't even neutered! I adopted him and couldn't have been happier. He immediately became the most important thing in my life. Spencer and I moved into a large home with a HUGE backyard. My roomate and her two doxie's lived here also. Then she decided to buy her own home so that meant Spencer would be a lonely pup very soon. I decided to start looking around for a playmate but knew I had to make the right choice for Spencer and no one else. I browsed through rescue after rescue. One day I saw Doc's photo on petfinder. He was so adorable with those funny ears. I read his profile and found that Doc was a doxie/chihuahua mix and was a puppy. Although I was leary about a puppy I couldn't help but think of the positives. His breed mix was a positive because spencer does better with smaller dogs. His age was a plus because Spencer is very energetic and needed someone to keep up. My roomate told me I was rushing into adopting too quickly and I should wait. I just couldn't stop thinking of Doc though. I exchanged emails with a million questions and then decided I was going to go meet him. I planned for a Saturday but couldn't wait. Luckily Stacy was happy to have me come that Thursday. I brought him home and it took Spencer a day to get used to him. Now, only three days later Spencer and Docker have settled in. I am so lucky to have two dogs settle in so quickly and come with very few if any "negative" behaviors. Docker was instantly potty trained and has not had one single accident! He simply follows Spencer around and does whatever he does. Docker is learning to hike his leg and it is hilarious. He is just like Spencer and I and lacks coordination. :) He is the perfect addition and Spencer and I couldn't be happier. Thank you so much Stacy for all you have done for my family. Thanks for patiently tolerating my million questions and emails and my indecisiveness when I met Docker and his brother that day. I know in my heart I made the perfect choice. I couldn't ask for a better family.

Hey, many thanks for making our perfect match with Pip or now Pepper possible. Thanks again to Nicole! Pepper is a wonderful dog and we are having a great time with her. Everybody loves her and she is so gentle and kind that we mostly take her everwhere we go. She seems happy but I'm not sure if she realizes how happy she makes us with that cute look in her face. We love so much and are excited for the doggie-future-adventures!

My boyfriend and I knew we wanted to get a dog, but we were waiting until we got to Scottsdale, our next city of residence. But just to blow some time one day, I was browsing the internet looking at dogs. Giovanni (Vanni for short) was the first dog that popped up and because of his unique markings and adorable face, he caught my eye. (He is orange and black brindle, making him look like a tiger) I knew I had to have him. We weren't prepared to get a dog, but I couldn't stop thinking about him!!! I saved his Petfinder picture onto my phone and sent his picture to everyone I knew, telling them all that I had to have him. Like it was meant to be, we found out that he was being fostered 1 mile away from where we live! The next day, we went to pick up our new little Tiger dog. (he is actually an Italian Greyhound/Dachshund mix)
We were instantly in love with him; his sweet temperament and loving personality instantly sucked us in. He was a parvo dog who had been dropped off and abandoned. When we adopted him, he was free of parvo, but in very rough condition. After a month of loving him and getting him back to 100% health, we knew that he needed a sibling. We went back to Petfinder to see who was out there and we found him a little brother at the same rescue agency!!!
We are now the proud mom and dad of a new little addition to our family! Parker was one of 5 miniature dachshund mixed puppies that were severely malnourished. At first we thought that he might be too small to bring into our home. Vanni has a lot of energy and is extremely quick. But, after a few days, we realized that there was no giving him back. Vanni loves his little brother, Parker, and we couldn't be a happier family!!!

We had no idea when we brought Trinity home just how perfect she was
going to be for our family. She was still recovering from surgery and I
believe grieving (yet again) the changes in her life, and we loved her
completely, from the first. However, we hadn't even scratched the
surface of this jewel of a dog we'd adopted. This week we see a whole
new dog here in our house.
Today, she has been running (yes! RUNNING and FAST too!) all around the
yard chasing a basketball that my 11 year old is using to play keep away with
her. I am amazed at her grace and agility even on three legs and just
how much she is enjoying it! If I ever saw a dog smile it is Trinity.
She is like the ever-ready bunny-she just goes and goes!
She took a "kiss-break" to come and give me some puppy-sugar and when
Mike reached over to pick up the ball-she was off like a flash....never
mind all of my sweet nothings! She doesn't want to quit!
Today I found my three year old carrying her around the kitchen, chubby
little arms around her belly, and I held my breath for a second as I
wasn't sure Trinity would appreciate her loving ministrations. No
worries! She dealt with it with the patience of a little tripod saint.
Everyday she amazes me. She is so much the dog we have longed for and
wanted for so long. If we hadn't decided to take a chance on some poor
little dog someone had thrown away (unbelievable!) with only three legs
and an unknown past.....look what we would have missed out on.
THANK YOU for rescuing these dogs and giving them a second chance at
happiness......
Deb

I adopted a toy poodle named Sparkle previously. She is the BEST doggie ever. We took this scruffy doggie in for grooming and she emerged a show dog! Perfect poodle. She is pampered and is the perfect pet. Thank you so much. We love her and couldn't imagine life without our perfect doggie.

Hey mom, I'm doing great at my new place! My new humans kept my name the same, so no changes there. My new people say that I'm adjusting very well - on the very first day I was already sitting (very handsomely I might add) and waiting patiently for my food. I weighed 18.2 lbs at my doctors visit last week so I've already gained about 3 pounds.
Their "old lady" dog still mostly ignores me, so my people picked out another puppy playmate for me - She will be ready in a few more weeks. Meanwhile, I'm having lots of fun playing with the humans.
And my voice is getting deeper now! My humans said that when I first got here, I "yipped". Now I bark like a big boy.
Oh, and the other day, the 7 year old human boy came out of his room dressed as a fireman. Well, of course I didn't recognize him - you know - with that big hat and jacket and everything... So I barked at him. I had to warn him to stay away from my humans! My humans thought it was cute that I know that I fit in so well that I'm ready to start protecting them!
Well, I need to go, it is WAY past my bedtime. I have to get up early to play!
Love,
Colby

Stacy,
I am writing on behalf of Maddi, the corgi. She's adjusting very well to her new home. At the moment she is snuggled up next to me and respectfully watching one of our cats, as he established who is the alpha on her first day with us. She loves going for walks, even if she lies down from exhaustion 3/4 of the way through our walk almost every time. She also loves chew bones and fetching her new ball. Best of all, she loves to snuggle with Mike and I. We both adore her and feel very fortunate to have her in our lives. Hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe new year!

Dear Stacy: Thought I would give you an update on the chiweenie we got from you on May 31st.. She is our baby. She travels great, and loves the children and people. She sleeps between Randall and I every night and she and I go nightnight every afternoon. She has a favorite toy , her squirelly., it also has to sleep with us. Thank you so much for holding her for me, as I was so terribly depressed over losing my Chiquita. Randall and I hope you and yours has a very Merry, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Stacey you and Paul are the greatest people I know. I am amazed every time I see you at how much energy, love, care, time, money and patience you continue to pore into these precious dogs lives. You had rescued Zorro (border collie) for us. :) Paul raised him back to health, teaching him how to walk again, by giving him water therapy after the surgery. We adopted him from you last year. His name is now Mackenzie. He continues to be the sweetest dog ever! We love and adore him. Thank you for truly being who you are to us and the human race and all the animals! You are so awe inspiring! I just don't believe you are human, you must be angels. Thank you!

Here is a happy reunion story:
Many years ago we got a puppy (mini-Greyhound) when we were living in New Orleans, La. After we had her (Tasha) for about 2 years, we moved, ended up getting stranded in El Paso, TX. After losing just about everything we had (truck, etc.) we became homeless. We had to put our beloved Tasha in the humane shelter, while we (me, my husband & our son David) ended up in a family shelter, which was right across the street from the humane shelter. We would visit her every day after work & son in school. We had almost enough money for us an apt. we went to visit our Tasha & to let the shelter people know we were going to get her out in a few days. To our dismay, she had been adopted by a family. Our son was heart-broken (me too). Well as the years passed, we lived in a variety of locations to present day in Las Cruces NM. Our son grew up, started a Job Corp program in Roswell. A few weeks ago I was looking at "From The Heart" animal shelter & couldn't believe my eyes. There was an adoptable dog that looked just like our beloved Tasha, even the name was the same. So I inquired about this dog, she's older now, grey around the muzzle. I filled out the adoption form, some e-mails to & from the person who was fostering the dog. Well Thursday (9/18/08) she had brought this dog to us.....YES it was our beloved Tasha. Still just as feisty as ever. My hubby & I are ssooo thrilled we have our beloved Tasha back. Then our son David calls us (just to hear our voice) I tell him the GREAT news. He almost dropped the phone, he is thrilled he gets his "buddy" back (he gave her the name Tasha)
I told ya this is a "Happy reunion story"
Thank you all for reuniting us.

I just wanted to give you an update on Rudy. As you know after reading his story on the internet, I felt compelled to visit him at the Pet-Smart during your adoption weekend.
No one can prepare you for such a case where there has been major neglect and abuse of an animal all of their life. I was determined to work with him and try to give him the best life possible.
Well it's been a few months now and I am sooo happy to say that he is slowly coming along. :) Once he learned how to use the doggie door.........well there's no stopping him. He zips in and out like a bolt of lighting. I'm happy to say that he is very intellegent. I only need to tell him once and he learns very quickly. He has learned to poop outside, and he knows many commands. He knows the words like NO, Good Doggie, Let's Go, and Eat. He seems to get along very well with his new housemates Maddie, and Tiny. His buddy is Tiny and he knows his place in the pack. Many days you can find him sunbathing on the porch, playing with his toys, and playing with Tiny. In the evening he likes laying on his silk pillows. Traces of major abuse or slowly being replaced with positive memories, and loving people.
THANK YOU for rescuing Rudy, and ALL that you do with all your animals. Having 4 dogs now....I KNOW how overwhelming it can be. Rudy is MY little baby here in his forever home. I really wish you could see him.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for my little Red-headed Rudy!

Thanks for taking on the forgotten segment of the homeless animal population -- the special needs, seniors, injured and ill that other "rescues" won't take because they aren't highly adoptable. You all are what rescue is all about! Keep up the good work!
