THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN AUSTIN, TEXAS.
Hi. My name is Cookie. My foster Mom says that I am a sweetheart. I don't know about that, I think it is only because I am in a safer place now. I was raised by a very nice elderly lady, who had to go live in a rest home. My Mom's family promised my Mom that they would take good care of me, but instead they threw me into the backyard with a bunch of BIG dogs that tried to use me as a chew toy. I was very scared and tried to hide untill they turned me into the county shelter. Because I was so traumatized and with my age, the shelter was going to put me to sleep, but one of the shelter workers called From the Heart, and they agreed that they would try to help me.
I am still very afraid when I meet someone new and I don't know if I will ever get over that. Things get better for me everyday and I am treated really well. it is going to take a special, patient, person for me to ever get adopted, because I am older and I still am afraid of getting hurt again.
